Overall job purpose
The DDaT – Business Relationship Manager works within the Business Partnering discipline in theDDaT Operations Job family. The post involves working with the wider job family to ensure the DDaTteam have an active and healthy relationship with the business units it serves. They will ensure stakeholders are involved in the IT lifecycle and are informed of ongoing work programmes and projects. They will lead research into emerging technologies and ensure the Council are prepared for changes in the technology landscape.
Reporting to the DDaT Lead Business Relationship Manager, this post will play a key role in achieving the strategic goals of the DDaT team through delivery of the Corporate and Education IT Strategies.
A significant element of the role will be to coordinate the project management and delivery of major, complex IT projects, leading to the implementation of changes in technology and business process across the council and as part of the wider collaborative agenda.
The post has a dual role, both within the IT Division and with customers in Directorates in terms of relationship management, promotion of technology, service level management and managing there solution of any directorate IT service issues or requests. The postholder will also use business analysis techniques to work with customers to identify user and service needs and identify opportunities
for service efficiencies that could be gained from the implementation of new technology.
They will also undertake any related activities allocated to them by their manager. The role involves ahigh degree of direct contact with customers at all levels within the organisation and with suppliers and other partners. This means that it is essential that the postholder builds a trusted and valued relationship with services and customers.
