Finance Planning and Analysis Manager / Business Reporting Manager Corporate UGL provides engineering, construction, and maintenance services across industries including rail, transport, telecommunications, oil and gas, power, renewables, resources, water, and defence in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. About the role We’re seeking an experienced Finance Planning and Analysis Manager (Business Reporting Manager) to join our corporate finance team, based in North Sydney. Reporting to the EGM, Finance, this role is critical in annual budget consolidation and month-end and statutory reporting across 20 budget owners and numerous cost centres. You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes to deliver clear, actionable insights that directly shape business decisions at the highest levels. Why this role? Manage over 40 key reports monthly, and play a critical role in managing project revenue, WIP analysis, and contractor finances. Streamline processes, enhance reporting quality, and improve collaboration across operational finance teams. Key responsibilities Manage consolidated monthly and quarterly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting using SAP and OneStream. Lead consolidated project and WIH reporting, overhead reporting, profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cashflow, and detailed variance analysis, including reconciliation and analysis. Prepare and deliver financial insights for senior stakeholders and parent entities. Lead and develop a high-performing team of 3, fostering collaboration and process efficiency. About you Experience in a FPA Manager or similar role, with a background in infrastructure construction, engineering, or similar industry. Expertise in project revenue recognition, contract types (design and construct, lump sum), subcontractor management, work in progress reporting, and billing profiles. Advanced skills in SAP, OneStream, and Excel to generate forecasts, CAPEX analysis, detailed variance reports, and automate reports. Skilled at translating data into clear, actionable insights, spotting trends, highlighting inefficiencies, and uncovering opportunities that drive real business outcomes. Detail oriented ensuring reports are accurate, well-formatted and complete, and tailored to senior stakeholders and adept at streamlining processes, embedding efficiencies and delivering insights that often answer questions before they’re asked.
