Job Description
As the BR&CM you’ll lead a small team or 3 to 5 people to drive excellence across the business in managing business risk through coordination and delivery of 1st line controls testing / quality assurance activities as well as undertaking other 1st line Risk activities including credit risk reporting tasks, project management. This role requires both a high level of attention to detail but also a great collaborator and people influencer. You will play a crucial role in streamlining processes, change management, training team members and upskilling the business.

What You’ll Do:
- Ensure appropriate planning and rollout of the 1st line controls sampling program; set and meet monthly review targets;
- Focus of controls sampling will be on key controls that are considered important in managing credit risk, fraud risk, AML risk and other operational risk aspects;
- Drive continual improvement and maintain strong risk management approach within the business;
- As required, assist with providing relevant training to enhance skills and knowledge within the business, to promote a positive risk management culture
- Working closely with Senior Stakeholders with respect to other ad hoc risk management tasks, albeit with an understanding that delivery of controls sampling across the business is the key priority of the role
- As a 1st Line ‘Risk Champion’, position and promote a positive risk management culture across the business
- Work with business colleagues to ensure risk events are reported and monitored in a precise and consistent way across the business via the incident management tool, capturing root cause
- Project Management and Collaboration: Managing delivery to schedules and identifying risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Cross-function Analysis: What impact do these restrictions have on other teams internally and how we can either mitigate these or assist them with the change.
- Communicating with Stakeholders: The BRCM will work to collaborate with stakeholders, effectively communicating findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner as well as identifying risks and the steps being taken to manage them.
- Data Analysis and Documentation: Conduct preliminary research, gathering relevant information and conduct/support in the development of assigned projects
- Analytical with demonstrated learning agility to digest complex information sets and draw insights, conclusions, and actions
- Timely escalation of issues and recommendations of solutions to be communicated to key stakeholders
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for the team, set goals, and manage performance.
What You’ll Bring:
- Excellent attention to detail and a background in risk and/or audit field
- A strong understanding of the Debtor Finance Industry
- Proven experience in delivery and change management across an organisation and at a national level
- A strong leader and ability to inspire and develop a team
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and change at a senior stakeholder level. You will need the ability to influence without direct authority.
