As we continue to strengthen our Private Banking operations, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Risk Manager to join our Business Risk Management team in the First Line of Defence (FLoD). This is an exceptional opportunity for a proactive risk management professional to drive excellence and shape the future of our risk culture. Main Duties & Responsibilities With advanced Business Risk knowledge, support continuous development and enhancement of a comprehensive risk and control assessment for all aspects of risk within the Private Banking FLoD, including the effective oversight of the testing programme (annual PB Control Blueprint review). • Responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive risk-based control monitoring programme exists across the function, evidencing the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls. Review to revamp or develop or (where required) existing processes and controls execution to achieve higher efficiency & effectiveness • Perform more complex business controls and monitoring on various areas, focusing on tasks/cases, i.e. Investment Suitability, Cross Border, Anti-Fraud, etc. • Support Head of BRM to produce regular and ad-hoc management reporting for Operation Risk Committee etc on the control testing status, observations, findings, and proactively come up with recommendations. • Support and conduct thematic reviews, special investigations (as & when required) and perform reporting on analysis with observations, root causes, consequence management (where required) • Lead and manage projects (where required) across various department and stakeholders to implement changes, enhancements and be accountable of the outcome of implementation. • Support PB COO and Head of BRM in initiatives fostering risk awareness in front office e.g. design training programs, support risk culture training, one-to-one coaching etc • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and 2LOD stakeholders (Ops Risk, Compliance etc), to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across business operations, and to collaborate to ensure appropriate controls are in place or remain relevant & effective. • Accountable for proactive escalation, reporting, provision of advice and challenging existing processes in relation to the private banking business activities. • Manage FLOD Risk Scorecard and ensure proper tracking, execution and integrity of the scorecard. Manage risk scorecard waiver / challenge process and obtain required approvals from relevant stakeholders, approval authorities. • Support and provides advice to front office staff on investment advisory / suitability activities to comply with in-house policies & procedures and local regulatory requirements. • Build strong relationships and credibility with key internal stakeholders. • Provide guidance to junior team members and new joiners, and may oversee or supervise BAU tasks (i.e. perform quality check, make judgement call with regards to Risk Scorecard impact, etc.) • Support PB COO and Head of BRM in handling and responding audit queries & audit observations. • Undertake any other duties within the Business Risk Management or as directed by PB COO &/or Head of Business Risk Management Requirements: • Bachelor degree or above in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields • 6 7 years or above of experience in financial or banking industries • Prior experience with general risk management, including control framework is preferred • Understanding of products and Wealth regulatory banking environment • Experienced in liaising with internal business partners • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, multi-tasking and to prioritize tasks
