Socket Fiber is looking for a Business Sales Lead to lead, coach, and develop our Business Account Executive team while maintaining your own book of business. In this role, you'll balance leadership with hands-on selling—driving team performance, supporting professional development, and helping grow Socket's commercial customer base. As a key member of the Business Sales team, you'll collaborate closely with Operations, Service Delivery, Construction, and other internal partners to deliver an exceptional customer experience while ensuring your team has the tools, coaching, and accountability needed to succeed. A Day in the Life You'll start your day reviewing team performance, pipeline activity, and sales opportunities before connecting with your Business Account Executives to provide coaching and remove roadblocks. Throughout the day, you'll prospect for new business opportunities, meet with customers, accompany team members on sales calls, and provide real-time coaching in the field. You'll also partner with internal teams to ensure orders move smoothly from sale to installation while monitoring key metrics, identifying development opportunities, and helping your team continuously improve. Every day brings a balance of leadership, strategy, customer interaction, and sales execution. What You'll Do Key responsibilities include: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Account Executives to achieve and exceed individual and team sales goals Provide field-based coaching, mentorship, and ongoing training aligned with Socket Fiber's sales methodology Hold team members accountable through performance metrics, pipeline reviews, and regular coaching conversations Maintain and achieve an individual sales quota through prospecting, relationship building, and closing new business opportunities Conduct cold outreach and develop new business relationships within assigned markets Serve as the subject matter expert on Socket Fiber's products, services, and commercial solutions Ensure adherence to established sales processes, CRM documentation, and order entry standards Collaborate with Operations, Service Delivery, Construction, Order Entry, and other internal teams to ensure accurate project execution and outstanding customer satisfaction Analyze sales performance and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness and results Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and customer success What We're Looking For To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience with a proven track record of achieving sales goals At least 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Strong customer focus and business acumen High learning agility with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to deliver exceptional customer outcomes Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to quickly learn CRM, billing, and other internal business systems Ability to travel locally up to 50–75% of the time with a valid driver's license What Will Help You Stand Out Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience Experience selling business telecommunications, fiber, or technology solutions Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce Experience leading high-performing outside sales teams Knowledge of commercial fiber internet, voice, and managed services Desired Attributes Beyond the qualifications, these attributes are what make someone a great fit for our team: Leader – You inspire others, provide meaningful coaching, and help your team succeed.
