We are seeking a Business Services & Tax Accountant/Advisor in an Australian Public Practice. Our client is well-established Advisory Accounting firm that continues to grow throughout the years

You will manage complex compliance, prepare financial statements and tax returns for diverse entities, short term, 8 figure turnovers, and once established, up to mid-9 figure turnoverASX listed companies, HNWG, multinationals, etc.

Gain exposure, with mentorship, to advisory work under partner or manager supervision depending on your experience. The ideal candidate will want experience more than compliance, and we are seeking someone with ambition, initiative, and someone who wants client facing responsibility. This role is open to strong communicators, who are Intermediates and Seniors.

We have an immediate start for the right candidate, close to transport near the Melbourne CBD.

  • Core ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Reporting: Prepare intricate income tax returns, financial statements, and BAS/IAS for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and companies
  • Advisory & Tax Planning: Assist managers in drafting tax planning memos and addressing complex tax issues such as Trust Distributions, Depreciation, Div 7A, CGT, and FBT
  • Client Management: Manage direct communication with clients to resolve queries and request source documentation.
  • Mentorship & Review: Review the work of junior/graduate accountants and assist with their on-the-job training.
  • System Administration: Onboard clients and maintain cloud-based accounting files on platforms like Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks.
  • ATO & ASIC Liaison: Prepare and lodge documents, handle corporate registry changes, and manage ATO correspondence.


  • Key RequirementsExperience: 4-10 years of dedicated Business Services or Tax experience within an Australian public practice.
  • Qualifications: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce and active progress toward or completion of your CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Australian taxation laws and accounting standards. Proficiency with cloud accounting software (Xero Certification highly regarded).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple client portfolios.
