Business Support Assistant
Morson is recruiting for a Business Support Assistant to join a leading organisation in the energy sector, based in Bury St Edmunds. This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential commercial and administrative support within a dynamic Project Management Office.
Job Purpose:
As a Business Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery by providing office and commercial support services. You will work closely with Project Engineers, Managers, and Planners to ensure the efficient coordination of activities and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Project Engineers, Managers, and Planners to ensure efficient staff scheduling and utilisation
Assist in formatting documents and Excel spreadsheets
Process purchase orders and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers
Manage the Goods Receipt (GR) process for incoming deliveries
Use work management tools and PC systems to facilitate project coordination
Take meeting notes and track follow-up actions
Compile and produce reports as required
Handle face-to-face and telephone queries from internal and external stakeholders
Support and coordinate team training and development
Assist with the end-to-end project process, from client enquiry to project handover
Provide additional support to other PMO functions as required
Raise purchase orders using SAP
Requirements:
A basic understanding of the electricity network and project-based work is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of SAP is desirable
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Proactive problem-solver with great attention to detail
Flexible approach to work and adaptable to changing priorities
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
A technical understanding or a formal qualification in engineering or business is beneficial but not essential
