This position is to support the project of humanitarian response depot set up and hub operations in Guangzhou, China. The selected candidate will report to WFP hub manager, with secondary line reporting to the lead of operation engagement. Duties and Responsibilities: The Business Support Assistant (Logistics) is under the overall supervision of Logistics Officer. The incumbent is responsible for, but not necessarily limited to, the following assigned duties: 1. Provide support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective execution of logistics plans. 2. Support timely preparation and delivery of shipments. 3. Following standard processes, and obtaining guidance as required, to ensure timely and accurate resolution of all enquiries with a high standard of client service mind-set. 4. Assist in management of commodity accounting data quality and integrity. 5. Support operational pipeline analyses, assessments, and operational planning for all delivery modalities. 6. Process documentation for execution of logistics operations (e.g., pipeline consolidation, invoice verification), take appropriate actions to resolve operational issues escalating various issues to the supervisor. 7. Collect and compile data, produce and/or contribute to reports and ensure information accuracy in corporate systems in support to informed decision-making. 8. Liaise with hub operator and limited number of external stakeholders to support efficient logistics operations management. 9. Take responsibility for the maintenance of set standard systems and files, to ensure information is accurate and readily available for the function. 10. Identify discrepancies in statistics and data, such as missing or wrong information, and report to senior staff in order to support clients to deliver their work. 11. Take responsibility for data integrity to facilitate availability of accurate information in corporate systems. 12. Provide help and support for any other duties whenever required.
