Description

We are seeking a proactive and organised Business Support Co-ordinator to join a leading Civil Engineering consultancy based in Bristol / Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Assistant or Office Assistant with a finance background looking to support the Managing Director and contribute to smooth business operations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in IT, including the full Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Forward-thinking, quick learner, and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Basic understanding of business finance and accounting principles.
  • Competent in business analysis and reporting.
  • Outgoing personality with a proactive and can-do attitude.
  • Comfortable building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to various offices, sites, and clients.
  • Experience in marketing is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Managing Director and senior management team.
  • Assist engineering teams with daily business operations.
  • Manage company accreditations, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), and support internal and external audits.
  • Oversee company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and currency.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports (financial and operational) to Directors.
  • Manage onboarding of new starters and coordinate exit procedures for leavers.
  • Support business development initiatives as required
  • Handle general administrative duties, including data entry, procurement, quoting, and data collection for PQQs and accreditations.
  • Coordinate the flow of information for the annual Research & Development Tax Relief process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key external clients and suppliers.
  • Support marketing and PR activities as necessary.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation bookings as required.
  • Undertake additional business support tasks as needed.
