EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • A degree in IT Hardware/Software or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a dedicated IT role.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Experience in project management within a regulated industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in desktop, server, and network hardware.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing IT systems and infrastructure within the organization, ensuring compliance with cGMP, EHS, and corporate IT standards for the Abbott site in Ireland > Sligo : Carbury Point, Finisklin Industrial & Technology Park, Sligo. This role involves identifying user requirements, managing system development life cycles, providing second-line support, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective IT solutions. The analyst will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide training and guidance to staff.
This Role is Based in Ireland, Sligo: Carbury Point, Finisklin Industrial & Technology Park.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Report hazards immediately and consult relevant SOPs before performing tasks.
  • Identify and document user system requirements under the direction of the IT Manager.
  • Manage projects through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including coordination with third-party developers.
  • Ensure all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Provide second-line support for designated systems.
  • Assist with IT-related project and development work as assigned.
  • Offer ongoing IT advice and support to employees and management.
  • Collaborate with Country, Division, and Corporate IT teams to enhance system capabilities.
  • Deliver IT training and onboarding for new employees.
  • Maintain personal training records on ComplianceWire and Isotrain.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects as workload permits.
  • Foster positive and constructive relationships with all departments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary IT contact on-site and coordinate with outsourced IT providers (e.g., IBM, Wipro).
  • Ensure full implementation of Abbott Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures for all IT systems.
  • Identify and recommend new technologies or methods to improve departmental efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide support to the IT Manager and staff on IT-related issues.

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE

  • Responsible for ensuring effective IT procedures and controls are in place.
  • Must respond promptly to IT issues, especially those impacting operational processes.
  • Plays a key role in maintaining communication and IT support across the organization.
