POSITION SUMMARY

Full-time position available on or after October 6, 2025 in Financial Services.
Under general supervision, the incumbent serves as a business systems analyst responsible for supporting, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise administrative systems to meet operational and reporting needs. The position provides functional-technical expertise across financial, student, and HR-related platforms by analyzing business processes, evaluating system functionality, and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
The incumbent collaborates with campus departments and external partners, including the Chancellor’s Office, to implement system enhancements, troubleshoot technical issues, support data integrations, and ensure reliable reporting and operational continuity. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, testing, data validation, documentation, and end-user support. The role supports the design and delivery of system-based solutions that improve efficiency, data accuracy, and service delivery across functional areas.
This position plays a key role in coordinating configuration changes, supporting system interfaces, and maintaining access and reporting tools to ensure the availability, integrity, and effectiveness of core business systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience.
Experience: Experience in technical information systems and application program packages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
  • Previous experience supporting enterprise systems related to finance, student financials, or human resources, including business process knowledge in areas such as accounting, procurement, payroll, or student account management.
  • Previous experience managing system integrations, file uploads, or data exchanges across platforms, including validation and troubleshooting of data interfaces or feeds.
  • Previous experience with creating or maintaining queries, reports, dashboards, or automation tools using SQL, Excel Macros, PeopleSoft Query Manager, or similar business intelligence/reporting platforms.
  • Previous experience administering user access, roles, or permissions within enterprise systems, with an understanding of data privacy, audit controls, and role-based access design.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in working with complex datasets, including the ability to interpret data, assess system issues, and deliver actionable insights or system improvements.
  • Working knowledge of business systems analysis principles, project planning, and stakeholder collaboration, including strong communication and organizational skills to support systems implementation, documentation, and end-user engagement.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily technical support for enterprise systems by resolving issues, fixing reporting/data errors, and offering user guidance.
  • Assist with access permissions for Share Drive and OneDrive.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, log/track errors, and coordinate fixes with technical teams.
  • Manage user access and roles in CFS, Concur, Data Warehouse, Microsoft tools, and other enterprise systems.
  • Ensure compliance with audit and security policies.
  • Oversee recurring data processes, file uploads, and scheduled jobs (e.g., STCSU tables, vendor feeds).
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, configuration tables, and training resources.
  • Conduct demonstrations and informal training for new users or during system changes.
  • Develop and update test scripts, configuration documents, change control logs, and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to identify business needs, workflow gaps, and system requirements.
  • Translate functional/technical specifications into configurations, enhancements, or integrations.
  • Recommend system improvements or third-party solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Develop process diagrams, requirements docs, and functional use cases.
  • Participate in system evaluations, gap analyses, and CSU/systemwide initiative reviews.
  • Create ad hoc queries, dashboards, and recurring reports using PeopleSoft Query Manager, Stanalytics, and related tools.
  • Validate and analyze data across system interfaces (e.g., Cashnet–Student Financials, CHRS–CFS).
  • Support reporting by designing dashboards and extracts with functional leads.
  • Maintain integration consistency with data dictionaries and configuration tables.Support software implementations, upgrades, and patches.
  • Conduct functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate data/workflows.
  • Coordinate installation/configuration of new applications or vendor releases.
  • Maintain and enhance Excel-based journals, macros, and automated templates.
