Description:

Status: Permanent Full-Time
The Canadian Red Cross Society (CRCS), a non-profit, humanitarian organization is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our Information Services team. Reporting directly to the Manager, Business Solutions, you will play a key role in performing business and systems analysis activities through bridging both domains: business and technology. Based on breadth and depth of understanding of business needs and processes, you will collaborate with technical teams to determine and implement appropriate solutions.
In this role you will be working on projects of various sizes to integrate business processes, business rules and business data with technology to satisfy business requirements. Familiarity with a variety of technical solutions and platforms is needed, in conjunction with an understanding of application capabilities and constraints within the organization.

In this role you will:

  • Own and lead end-to-end all aspects of requirements management and traceability
  • Elicit, document, and analyze business and stakeholder requirements and transform them into system requirements
  • Create and maintain business process models (Use Cases and Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN) process flows), conceptual and logical data models, etc.
  • Research, evaluate and provide input regarding proposed IT solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to implement the requirements.
  • Work within a matrix organization reporting within Information Services, closely collaborating with support services such as PMO and other internal client groups.
  • Provide necessary guidance to testers during quality Assurance (QA) process, develop and execute test plans as required
  • Investigate problems and recommend resolution options
  • Support the IT change management process and perform system configuration as required
  • Prepare user and technical documentation e.g. ‘how to’ documents and deliver training at the train-the-trainer level
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the delivery of business system analysis services.
  • Ensure that standards and guidelines are followed, and recommend changes if appropriate

We’re looking for:

  • University Degree (Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or related field preferred) or equivalent certification or experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business and system analysis in a project environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Proficiency (speaking, reading and writing) in both English and French is essential
  • Experience with Office 365 and SharePoint Online is highly desirable
  • Experience in process, function, and data modeling (Unified Modeling Language (UML) or BPMN experience desirable)
  • Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and product demos.
  • IIBA CBAP or PMI PBA certification is an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Dynamics AX, Power BI software is beneficial
  • Prior experience in an IT service delivery organization or consulting is a definite asset.
  • Experience with one or more of the following business domains is desirable: human resource management, finance, emergency management, supply chain management, home care and community services
  • Ability to work from home as the primary workspace.

Some travel across Canada may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
