Our client is looking for Business System Analysts for a Compliance project in Capital Markets - all are 1 year contracts to start:
Role Overview: Intermediate to Senior Business Systems Analyst – Global Markets Surveillance
We are seeking experienced Business Systems Analysts to support mapping activities related to the integration of Global Markets Order Lifecycle data with Surveillance Platform requirements.
Must have a comprehensive understanding of Global Markets assets and products—including listed and bilateral instruments—along with their economic attributes, surveillance behaviors, and trade lifecycle representations. This includes identifying how multiple trades may be grouped as a strategy, and how multi-leg or multi-instrument trades are structured and mapped for surveillance purposes.
Collaborate with compliance and surveillance teams to analyze and document market abuse behaviors such as spoofing, layering, and front-running, translating regulatory and investigative requirements into actionable system specifications and data models.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Advanced Excel sheet knowledge to map, convert, and demostrate orders and executions mappings
Comfortable with JSON and XML
Comfortable with SQL
Experience with Fix protocol
Nice to have Python skills

DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE:

Global Trade Surveillance
In-depth knowledge of trade surveillance frameworks across all asset classes, with a focus on behavioral pattern detection, market abuse monitoring and familiar with Material Non-Public Information(MNPI)
Global Markets Operations
Strong understanding of order lifecycle management and execution workflows across asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income (FI), FX, Commodities, and Rates.
Familiarity with Order Management Systems (OMS) and Execution Management Systems (EMS), as well as trading venues such as SEFs, MTFs, and ECNs.
Understanding of the Communication Protocols (FIX, OUCH, SWIFT, FPML)
Location is Toronto OR New York City - hybrid role 2 days in the office per wee
