Description River Run is a shared services organization that supports banking affiliates, Newburyport Bank, Pentucket Bank and Rollstone Bank & Trust. The Business Systems Analyst serves as a bridge between business and IT, supporting, enhancing, and integrating banking systems to ensure efficient, secure, and compliant operations. This role gathers and implements business requirements, manages applications and reporting, and collaborates across teams to drive data-informed decisions and system improvements. Essential Job Functions Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency. Participates in system assessments to gather and document business requirements, evaluate risks, justify costs, and ensure compatibility with existing systems. Acts as a liaison between business units and technical teams, translating business needs into detailed functional specifications and contributing to project planning efforts. Configures and documents system settings for new application implementations to align with business objectives and operational standards. Defines testing requirements, creates test plans, and scripts, and participates in user acceptance testing to ensure solutions meet business needs. Develops user guides, procedures, and training materials to support new systems, features, and process enhancements and software patch rollouts. Work with departments such as loans, retail, treasury, customer service and compliance to improve functionality while adhering to company policy and regulation. Ensures accurate data mapping and smooth implementation of new products or features to support systems integration activities. Performs user access reviews and maintenance for assigned applications in alignment with internal controls and security policies. Conducts feasibility analyses and assesses the business impact of proposed initiatives, technical solutions, or process changes. Troubleshoots system and process issues, identifying root causes and recommending practical, efficient solutions. Prepares business documentation such as cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, system roadmaps, and current versus future state evaluations. Works collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and system changes are effectively implemented, documented, approved and communicated. Develops, implements, and documents business systems that facilitate data collection, processing, and reporting. Provides support and documentation during internal, state, and federal audits or regulatory examinations. Provides backup support to team members to ensure continuity of operations and project delivery. Requirements Qualifications, Experience, and Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, operations, or related field or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of banking experience with familiarity in financial operations and systems preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and communicate complex information to non-technical stakeholders Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and coordinate concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of database structures and IT infrastructure; familiarity with banking systems and analytical tools preferred.
