Responsibilities

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, upgrade, enhancement, operational support, and re-engineering of business processes and systems for the Beedie School of Business administrative information systems. The position oversees the administration of major components within Beedie’s Teaching, Research & Collaboration System (TRACS) and provides leadership and direction for systems development projects and initiatives. The Business Systems Analyst assumes a lead role in the design of new systems structures and evaluates the procedural compatibility between existing and upgraded systems; leads the functional and systems configuration of modules specific to different business areas; re-engineers and documents business processes; conducts research and documents procedural data related to University governance policies; assesses transitional requirements during system changes; performs application testing; identifies report requirements and specifications; develops system security protocols; and participates in the preparation, evaluation, and delivery of training materials and staff training. The position provides leadership
and supervision to junior technical staff. The incumbent of the position analyses financial and business reporting requirements, and develops structured queries and reports to provide data for business planning and decision-making processes. The Business Systems Analyst works collaboratively with other technical personnel, both within and external to the Beedie School of Business.
