Classroom

  • Implements effective instructional practices to meet the needs of the learners

Career and Technical Education

Program Responsibilities

  • Ensures the appropriate storage and use of school-owned materials, equipment, tools, and donated materials to prevent loss or misuse
  • Prepares short and long-term budgets and assists with the procurement of supplies and equipment specific to the program
  • Facilitates and maintains industry partnerships to ensure that the program is aligned with industry needs
  • Facilitates and maintains student opportunities for internships, co-ops, job shadows, student enterprises, and CTSOs
  • Teachers with student enterprises are expected to serve as the CEO and CFO of those organizations
  • Teachers with CTSOs are expected to serve as an advisor for organizations aligned with their program
  • Participates in CTE events, such as the Career Awareness Night and Advisory Committee meeting
  • Satisfies all program-specific requirements of Perkins IV
  • Commits to working with CTE staff to fulfill the mission of Career and Technical Education

CTE Safety Plan

  • Maintains a safe, orderly, comfortable, and productive classroom environment where there may be many potential hazards and communicates and monitors these standards with your students. This includes:
  • Instructing students on the use of eye protection and safety guards
  • Educating on the use, care, and safe operation of tools, machines, and equipment
  • Controlling the facility layout, materials storage, lighting, heating, and ventilation to the extent possible

School and Community

  • Displays respect for all members of the school community
  • Participates fully in commitments beyond the role in the classroom (i.e., assigned duty period,
  • campus supervision, chaperoning, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities)
  • Promotes progress of the school community by engaging in committees that enact change
  • Engages in other school functions as a representative of the department and the school (i.e. course night, graduation, freshman field day, open house)
