We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Unit Manager to lead operations across our property at Hill River Farm, located 12kms inland from the coastal town of Jurien Bay in Western Australia. This is a key leadership role focused on people, livestock, cropping, and operational management to ensure a safe, productive, and high-performing cattle business. You will be responsible for leading, managing and supporting staff, developing and implementing farm development programs to improve productivity and asset value. In addition, you will manage general farm operations across cropping, livestock, pasture development, and infrastructure maintenance. The Property Hill River is a 5,350-hectare premium farming property on the mid-west coast. The mixed clay, gravel and sandy loam soils and mild coastal climate support highly productive annual and perennial pastures which are managed to optimise growth of young backgrounding cattle sourced from northern and southern WA, preparing them for grain finishing. Please note: Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia and a current driver’s licence. These roles are not suitable for people on short term /working holiday visas. What you will bring to the role: Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). Current Driver’s Licence (C‑Class or equivalent). Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance requirements relevant to agricultural operations. Strong livestock handling capabilities and a high level of horse‑riding experience. Experience in educating livestock and applying best‑practice animal handling principles. Demonstrated experience in broadacre farming operations using GPS and machine‑control systems. Knowledge of agricultural chemicals, weed management, and safe application practices. Proven ability to operate and maintain modern farming equipment. Strong understanding of workplace health and safety and environmental compliance requirements. A strong commitment to safety and animal welfare. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in data recording. Flexibility in working hours, including some weekend work as required. Initiative and problem-solving ability. Ability to pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment.
