Job title: Busser Location: PlumpJack Inn, Olympic Valley Reports To: General Manager/ Director of Food and Beverage       About us: PlumpJack Inn is a charming rustic Inn at the base of Palisades, one of the largest ski resorts in the U.S.. The Inn is situated at the edge of the Village at Palisades and the base of the mountain affording guests the opportunity a short walk to numerous lifts, plus the funitel, base-to-base gondola and the Mountain Tram. The Inn offers cozy accommodations featuring a mix of well-appointed guestrooms and suites. The PlumpJack Cafe is renowned in North Lake Tahoe for its seasonal menu and award-winning wine list. The PlumpJack Café Bar is a popular Apres destination featuring creative cocktails, craft beers and an extensive by-the-glass wine list.   Purpose of the role:   To assist the food server in the restaurant to ensure guest satisfaction during all aspects of the dining experience..   Responsibilities: * To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely manner, deferring to the Server when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction. * To make the Server and Manager aware of all guest comments and complaints. * To extend a courteous, friendly, and professional greeting to guests as they arrive, and to thank them as they depart. * To ensure, as directed, with room set-up and breakdown, including setting and decorating tables; folding napkins; preparing condiments; filling salt, pepper, and sugar containers; and breaking down and storing tables and chairs. * To keep all water glasses filled at all times (ice water and ice tea) * To clear dishes as needed from tables in a timely manner. * To prepare coffee, espressos, cappuccinos as directed. * To clear tables from all debris with crumber. * To keep floor clean at all times. * To support the bartenders in stocking, cleaning and organizing the bar as directed. * To reset tables throughout service efficiently. * To satisfactorily perform all side duties as directed. * To maintain the proper care and cleanliness of tableware and serving equipment, handling both to minimize breakage. * To leave the storage areas clean, organized and secured at all times. * To represent and market the PlumpJack Inn in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote the PlumpJack Group businesses internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.  * To promote and comply with all policies and procedures of PlumpJack. * To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others. * To always maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas. * To attend all mandatory meetings as directed. * To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed. * To adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy as outlined in the PlumpJack Employee Handbook. To report to work as scheduled and be prepared to start work. * To remain at work for the entire work shift, except for meal and rest periods or when required to leave on authorized PlumpJack business.   Candidate requirements:   * Previous restaurant experience preferred.   * Basic knowledge of foods, service standards and procedures.      * Detail oriented, organized, and efficient.     Learns quickly. * Diplomatic and calm with strong verbal communication skills.  * Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.   * Good team player.  Customer service focus.  Able to work productively with little supervision.  Trustworthy and reliable.   Working Conditions: Works primarily indoors in clean, well-lighted restaurant, some of which are temperature controlled. Exposed to weather conditions en-route to work areas. Makes frequent trips to the kitchen where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floor is uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease. Works on all surfaces, concrete, wood, rug, and tile. Work areas may be noisy and congested, depending upon size and location of function. Performs work in all areas of extensive facility. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens   Physical Demands: Stands/walks short distances throughout shift.  Bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and lifts to perform routine tasks.  Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short distances. Frequent use of stairs, daily.   Terms: Part Time, Non-Exempt  Non-exempt employees are subject to the wage and hour laws and entitled to overtime pay.  All overtime work by a non-exempt employee must be approved in advance by the employee’s supervisor or the General Manager.     Non-exempt employees who work overtime without prior approval are subject to disciplinary action, including termination.    At Will Employment:    The relationship between CNCML LP and PlumpJack Management Group, LLC and the employee is for an unspecified term and is considered “at will”.
