We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Butchery Manager in our growing on-site farm shop.
Working closely with our farm shop manager and team on the farm to provide the very best produce for customers through in person sales and nationwide through our online shop. A full understanding of whole carcase butchery is essential with Beef, Lamb and Pork experience. Having a hands on approach and a full nose to tail knowledge and a passion for the butchery trade is key.
Taking phone calls, book orders, answering the occasional email and working closely alongside our bakery, catering and farm team are all important. Effective communication is key to developing a cooperative ethos across all departments.
The right candidate will have a little creative flair to organise promotions, new products with the aim of balancing carcass and improving the business standing.
You will be expected to lead and motivate a small team of butchers to cut & fulfil orders, leading by example whilst complying and maintaining hygiene and health and safety processes. Ensuring quality control throughout the butchery in every product sold is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

-NVQ (or equivalent) qualification in butchery
-Full knowledge and previous experience in carcass butchery
-Good attention to detail
-Strong leadership and teamwork skills
- Effective communication
-Creative spark to create offers/promotions and keep on top of latest trends in the food sector

-Carcass butchery of our home reared beef, lamb and pork
-Management and daily organisation/delegation between team of butchers
-Management, delegation and organisation of work areas
-Preparation of meat for online orders, book orders and wholesale orders.
-Serving of customers and meeting customer expectations
-Preparation of meat related products (Burgers, sausages, etc)
- Maintaining food safety levels, paperwork and assigned legislation within butchery
