Job Title: Butchery Operative

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Butcher Operative to join our team. No prior experience is necessary – full training will be provided. This is a hands-on role involving meat preparation, customer service, and maintaining stock level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable with manual handling and lifting moderate weights.
• Capable of working in chilled environments.

• Meat Preparation & Cutting:
• Safely and efficiently cut, trim, and portion pre-packed meat products according to specifications.
• Ensure all products meet quality, hygiene, and presentation standards.
• Operate and maintain knives, saws, and other cutting equipment in line with safety guidelines.
• Supporting day-to-day shop operations as needed
• Customer Service & Sales:
• Serve customers in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner.
• Provide product information, recommend cuts, and answer customer queries.
• Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Inventory & Stock Control:
• Receive and offload deliveries.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering to maintain product availability.
• Rotate stock to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
• Accurately record deliveries, usage, and wastage in inventory systems.
• Compliance & Hygiene:
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain clean and organised work areas, equipment, and display counters.
• Comply with company policies and legal requirements for food handling.
