Qualifications Position Summary:  Tiger Mowers, a leading manufacturer of high-quality hydraulically driven roadside mowing equipment, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. This role is essential in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components to support our manufacturing operations. The Buyer will be responsible for purchasing, materials planning, supplier negotiations, and inventory management to align with company goals. This position requires strong analytical skills, strategic sourcing abilities, and collaboration with internal teams to maintain efficiency and quality in the supply chain. The Buyer will also contribute to achieving company performance objectives, including operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement in procurement processes.   Alamo Group Core Competencies * Leading Change & Change Management: Drive continuous improvement and effectively balance change with business performance. * Leading People & Teamwork: Maximize employee potential and uphold ethical standards in achieving company objectives. * Communication: Clearly and persuasively convey information, negotiate effectively, and build strong internal and external networks. * Business Acumen: Understand financial metrics, utilize business strategies, and manage company resources efficiently. * Results Driven: Make timely, effective decisions to achieve results, focusing on accountability and continuous improvement.   Essential Functions of the Job * Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure cost-effective and high-quality material procurement. * Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., production managers, engineers) to determine material needs and specifications. * Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and delivery schedules. * Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize inventory levels while meeting production demands. * Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on-time deliveries, quality standards, and contractual compliance. * Address procurement-related issues such as supplier delays, cost overruns, or quality concerns. * Conduct supplier audits to assess certifications, quality control, and ethical practices. * Stay informed about market trends, industry regulations, and new technologies that impact procurement. * Generate reports and provide data analysis to support decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities. * Work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s): * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, APICS) are a plus. * Experience: Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Procurement Expertise: Strong knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, and supplier negotiations. * Negotiation Skills: Ability to drive cost savings and secure favorable contract terms. * Analytical Skills: Ability to assess market trends, supplier risks, and cost-saving opportunities. * Organizational Abilities: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. * Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effective collaboration with internal teams and supplier management. * Technical Proficiency: Experience with procurement software/tools and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Decision-Making Ability: Ability to work independently and make sound procurement decisions.
