This role involves collaborating with suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The Buyer contributes to the seamless functioning of the supply chain by optimizing sourcing strategies and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Process RFQs for indirect and R&D materials, ensuring procurement procedure compliance Collaborate with Purchasing Manager to meet purchase requests promptly Optimize response times by reviewing new purchase requisitions to meet operational needs Foster professional vendor relationships, promptly communicate identified risks to leadership Resolve internal department issues, ensuring seamless payment processes Review vendor quotes for accuracy, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines Ensure order accuracy through supplier follow-up and delivery confirmations Manage and track orders at risk of delayed delivery, proactively mitigate potential delays Source new vendors for Engineer Teams' R&D projects and initiatives Maintain meticulous purchase documentation, facilitating audits and reference Update purchase order due dates based on logistics and vendor schedules Efficiently allocate resources for maximum productivity Effectively communicate across all business levels, demonstrating strong verbal and written skills Contribute to cross-functional projects enhancing supply chain efficiency Ethically tackle challenges, leveraging problem-solving skills for effective solutions Demonstrate autonomy, seeking guidance from management when needed EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related discipline required Experience in Inventory Control/Analysis and purchasing/procurement, especially for a multi-site manufacturing company within Oil and Gas Industry preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Spanish proficiency advantageous Strong organization, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read, interpret, and understand the Company's supply demands and needs Ability to analyze and interpret cost drivers when developing cost savings strategies. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and timelines in a fluid environment, bearing high levels of responsibility and accountability Cognitive skills including learning, processing thoughts, applying knowledge, analyzing, reasoning, evaluating, and making appropriate decisions to achieve business goals and solve problems Flexibility to adjust to work routines as required to meet the company's needs PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds Operate basic office equipment, such as a keyboard, mouse, copier/printer/scanner Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses, steel toe shoes/boots and a hardhat SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES All employees have a responsibility to do everything they can to prevent injury to themselves, their fellow employees and others that may be affected by their actions or omissions at work.
