Beclawat Manufacturing Inc.(Prelco, Belleville), is looking to fill the position of Buyer/Expeditor who, under the direction of the Operations Manager, will primarily be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring data accuracy across systems.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze purchasing needs based on sales orders and inventory levels and operational forecasts.
  • Source, negotiate and procure goods, materials, and services in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Prepare and manage bids, RFQs, RFPs, and vendor documentation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Review and negotiate pricing, service agreements, and contract terms
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to inform purchasing strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory documentation for all purchases
  • Monitor supply levels and delivery schedules to proactively identify potential material shortage or delays and provide strategic recommendations to management and make alternate arrangements to minimize operational disruption.
  • Advise teams and business units on lead times and procurement timelines to support planning
  • Source, negotiate, and manage service level agreements, scope of work, and contract terms with service providers
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues in collaboration with the Quality team
  • Process non-conformance reports (NCRs) and negotiate returns, credits, or replacements
  • Verify vendor invoices and resolve billing discrepancies with professionalism and tact
  • Coordinate deliverables from various departments to achieve production objectives
  • Liaise with internal departments to maintain ERP system accuracy and data integrity
  • Maintain appropriate and complete vendor documentation as required
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial data
  • Act as a backup for other roles within the Operations team to ensure continuity

The Buyer/Expeditor must possess the following:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in procurement, operations, or supply chain coordination
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
