Description

GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES) is a full-service jet engine overhaul and repair station located at Helsinki International Airport in Vantaa, Finland.
We are currently seeking a self-driven and independent Buyer to join our dynamic and international Procurement team of 14 professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing spare parts, materials, and supplies essential for jet engine maintenance and repair.
As a Buyer, your daily tasks will include converting purchase requests into purchase orders (POs) and requests for quotation (RFQs), managing delivery schedules, and keeping your manager informed about the status of POs. You will also handle vendor inquiries and provide additional documentation or information as needed.
Working closely with the material planning team, you will contribute to identifying the most customer-oriented and cost-effective procurement solutions. In addition to sourcing engine materials, you will also manage various indirect purchases. Depending on your interests, there may be opportunities to participate in procurement development projects.
The ideal candidate will have a technical or commercial education, or previous experience in similar roles, along with a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts. You should also possess the ability to network across functions and geographical borders, collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
At GATES, we prioritize teamwork and close collaboration, which is why we expect our employees to work on-site at our office. The procurement team is based primarily at our Logistics facility in Vantaa Aviapolis, with occasional workdays at our main facility located at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
This is a full-time, permanent position.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for any purchasing-related issues
  • Take ownership of ad hoc tasks and handle them independently

  • Resolve order-related issues in an efficient and timely manner
