Position Summary The Buyer plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operation and business objectives by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This role helps maintain strong supplier partnerships, supports company quality standards, and contributes directly to operational efficiency and cost management. Main Responsibilities • Purchase and expedite materials and services to support manufacturing and business plans. • Communicate and manage supplier relationships and commitments. • Track and update order status, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays. • Research and select vendors, negotiate rates, and coordinate deliveries. • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance for cost, quality, and service. • Support cost reduction goals and maintain favorable pricing metrics. • Uphold company quality standards and handle urgent procurement needs. Requirements Key Skills and Qualifications • Knowledge of purchasing procedures and computer-based inventory systems. • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Proficient in Excel and general computer applications (Word, Outlook, Teams). • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Bachelor’s degree or purchasing certification preferred; 2+ years of purchasing experience required. Education and Experience • Experience with electronic and electromechanical components is preferred. • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and internal teams. • Proficiency with Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables) required.
