Description The Buyer II is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and components required to support CFS Technologies’ manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely procurement of quality products at the best possible value while maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Buyer II collaborates cross-functionally with Production, Inventory Control, and Engineering teams to support operational goals and supplier performance standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Source, evaluate, and purchase raw materials, components, and supplies in alignment with company quality and cost objectives. · Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, cost-effectiveness, and high performance. · Solicit and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing and lead times, and execute purchase orders accordingly. · Monitor open orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any discrepancies or delays with suppliers. · Maintain accurate purchase and supplier data in the ERP system. · Collaborate with internal departments to forecast material needs and support production planning. · Review inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages or overstock situations; expedite materials as needed. · Research and evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, financial stability, and performance metrics. · Analyze market trends and material pricing to make informed purchasing decisions. · Support company initiatives related to cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process improvement. · Assist with supplier audits and vendor performance reviews. · Escalate material or supplier issues promptly to management and recommend corrective actions. · Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively. Knowledge of purchasing best practices, supplier management, and contract terms. QUALIFICATIONS / PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience buying raw materials such as steel, plastics, and electrical components preferred. Proven ability to negotiate and manage supplier relationships effectively. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP software. An equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionally. Ability to walk, stand, and communicate effectively throughout an 8–10-hour workday. Pay: $60,000 -$70,000 based on experience
