Our Gorham, ME location is looking to add a Buyer to the team. This role is responsible for the procurement of goods and services, and the assurance of cost efficiency and quality standards. What You’ll Do: · Comply purchasing policies and processes. · Examines bids and makes awards when applicable. · Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and cost center. · Works closely with receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrived. · Traces delinquent arrivals from purchase orders. · Follows Company policies, applicable laws and regulations. · Review and ensure appropriate levels of inventory prior to issuing PO’s. · Assists Senior Buyer in identifying opportunities to decrease costs, ensuring communication with engineering to evaluate feasibility. · Work with quality sending out self-assessments and site visits for vendors. · Responsible for contributing to a safe work environment and reporting any safety hazards. · Ensure communication and collaboration with pertinent individuals and departments. · Sharing relative insight and input for continuous improvement and creating efficiencies on work related topics and workplace safety. · Data entry with strong attention to detail ensuring data integrity. · Manage data within the company’s ERP system and Microsoft office suite. · Support production department to meet business needs. · Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Ability to maintain regular work hours. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Ability to stand, kneel and sit for long periods of time. Operates a computer, and telephone requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Routinely communicates face-to-face and in writing, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. Physical surroundings require occasional exposure to elements such as noise, heat, cold. Pay Range: $26.00-$28.00/hr.
