Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer – National to join our dynamic procurement team in Stoney Creek, ON. This full-time, permanent role is responsible for overseeing all inventory management activities, including procurement, warehouse coordination, and material returns. The successful candidate will provide both technical and administrative support to ensure effective and efficient inventory operations.

Salary: $73,000–$76,000 per year
Eligibility: Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. Work permit holders will not be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secondary School Diploma required; post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Supply Chain certification (CSCMP or CPIM) or working toward one is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supply chain or procurement environment
  • Strong understanding of pricing, costing, and inventory processes
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; web-based tools)
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset
  • Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Responsibilities
  • Review daily material requirements to create purchase orders and manage warehouse transfers
  • Maintain strong communication and performance expectations with key suppliers
  • Contribute to national purchasing and inventory initiatives as directed by the Purchasing Manager
  • Ensure system accuracy for forecasts, lead times, and replenishment parameters
  • Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to prevent excess or obsolete inventory
  • Manage PO cancellations, internal transfers, and returns as necessary
  • Collaborate with sales and warehouse teams to plan and fulfill material needs
  • Support issue resolution related to shortages, discrepancies, and critical items
  • Lead supplier performance reviews and improvement planning
  • Assist with change management processes for product introductions and phase-outs
  • Coordinate and participate in physical inventory counts
  • Generate spreadsheets and inventory-related reports as required
  • Support and participate in Health & Safety programs and training
