Job Description Buyer Location: Methil, Fife About the Role Navantia UK is looking for an organised and motivated Buyer to join our growing Procurement Team in Methil. You’ll play a key role in coordinating supplier engagement and ensuring the efficient delivery of materials and services that keep our projects running smoothly. What You’ll Do As a Buyer, you will: Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with cost, quality, and delivery targets. Convert requisitions into purchase orders accurately and promptly. Maintain the continuous supply of goods and materials, identifying and resolving any potential risks to operations. Research and evaluate opportunities to improve value and reduce costs. Prepare and deliver regular procurement reports. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and processes. Contribute ideas to enhance operational efficiency and support continuous improvement. Support the Procurement Manager with contract negotiations, supplier reviews, and performance management. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with suppliers to ensure collaboration and reliability. What We’re Looking For Experience working within a procurement team, ideally in heavy industry, marine, manufacturing, or construction. CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred but not essential. Understanding of procurement law, contracts, and supplier management. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience using ERP systems. Knowledge of the local supply chain is advantageous. Why Join Us?
