What You Will Do The Buyer position is a key role within our strategic plan for global Supply Chain management. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and analytical skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, balancing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the supply chain in support of a mixed-mode manufacturing operation using established Purchasing Policies and Procedures. Execute and support export/import and customs compliance control policies, procedures and resources through training programs, formal and informal communication and process improvements. * Analyze Bills of Material, routings, and demand. Work within mainframe environment to enter purchase orders, make inquiries/ decisions regarding inventory, historical records, etc. * Proactive approach to maintaining a high level of service to internal and external customers. * React to the increase variation from forecast and/or customer demand to take the appropriate actions within the supply chain. * Ensure on time delivery of purchases and communicate/ resolve quality issues and other supplier performance problems. * Maintain Master Supplier Files, including Supplier Scorecards for “A” level suppliers. * Maximize inventory turns and minimize inventory carrying cost while maintaining customer expectations. * Provide Customer Service with valid available to promise dates. * Support ERP projects for data clean up, implementation, and sustainment. * Interact with the Production Team and Planners to ensure that production schedules can be executed in the planned time frame regarding capacity and material availability. * As necessary, manage change within time fences, (due to emergency production concerns, expedites, equipment, problems, etc.) * May plan requirements for assigned area of responsibility, in keeping with company goals, policies and procedures. * Special Projects centered around data integrity and continuous improvements as determined by manager. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
