QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:

  • Procurement background
  • Experience in a similar role preferred. Ideally in Marine / Oil &Gas / Engineering sector
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Excel Applications
  • Experience in use of Procurement modules in a ERP system
Responsibilities

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • Using the company approved Purchasing system
  • Compliance with Purchasing policy and procedures and Safety Management System.
  • Ensure goods and services are purchased at competitive prices are fit for purpose regarding safety, function and certification.
  • Ensure that North Star framework agreements are used whenever possible.
  • Sourcing suppliers.
  • Sending RFQ’s for goods and services.
  • Summarizing and analysing quotations.
  • Creating Purchase orders.
  • Expediting Purchase orders, keeping requestor(s) advised of delivery issues.
  • Enter receipts against Purchase Orders.
  • Liaise with engineering superintendents and other internal customers.
  • Be assertive and tactful with suppliers and customers.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and accounts payable to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Be methodical with Requisitions, RFQ’s, Quotations, Order acknowledgements and Delivery notes to ensure that there is a clear audit trail.
  • Maintenance of records to ensure PO’s are receipted and closed on a timely basis.
  • Arrange supplier returns when necessary.
  • Assist with Inventory cycle counts / year end count.
  • To provide support and cover when Purchasing colleagues are absent.
  • To carry out other duties as may be reasonably required
