Description:
Overall Responsibilities:
- Follow MRP to release POs (Purchase Orders) or RFQs (Request for Quotations) to suppliers.
- Coordinating with overseas & local suppliers regarding purchase-related issues and tracking shipment status.
- Responsible for overseeing procurement, logistics, and production planning.
- Ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery in all procurement functions.
- Identify potential suppliers and conduct market research to assess their capabilities.
- Evaluate and appraise suppliers for machine components, materials, and procurement products from both local and overseas sources.
- Utilize negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and lead times, ensuring punctual deliveries.
- Closely manage, maintain, and monitor EC (Engineering Change).
- Maintain warehouse stock levels to adequately support production.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on all levels.
- Able to work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel as a team lead.
- Provide Management with data and reports related to purchasing activities as and when required.
- Periodic review to Management on purchasing system improvements and streamlining purchasing processes.
- Performing any additional ad-hoc duties as assigned by the department manager.
Requirements:
- Preferably with a Degree in Business/Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in the MNC Manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in SAP/ORACLE/SYSPRO/BAAN/related MRP&ERP
- Resourceful and meticulous with excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills with Vendors and Stakeholders
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
- Able to work independently and a good team player.
