Description
To procure all day-to-day pharmaceuticals and associated supplies and to assist in the regulation of all pharmaceuticals used in the Medical Center. To identify and investigate shortages, back orders and incorrectly received supplies. Responsibilities: Maintains proper records associated with annual inventory. Inventories, orders, and processes all stock from Central Supply. Puts all orders away and rotates stock using FIFO method. Assures that proper items and quantities of merchandise are received. Reports errors in incoming orders directly to the supplier or the supervisor, completing proper paperwork for the error. Assists Pharmacy personnel with securing needed information regarding pricing and purchase history. Interfaces with supervisor and drug information specialists as needed to resolve manufacturer issues and special order situations. Remains updated on product changes and new products on the market. As required, performs the duties of the Purchasing and Inventory Control Clerk. Prepares and distributes pharmaceuticals to the satellite pharmacies, Anesthesia and various units as needed. Remains knowledgeable and updated in the use of the wholesaler computer system and the APS (robot) computer system as needed. Works directly with supply company reps to identify and correct shortages, back orders and supplies received incorrectly. Demonstrates a commitment to Service Excellence by understanding the needs of patients, their families, physicians and co-workers and doing what is required the first time, every time by being responsible, sensitive, accurate, timely, coordinated and thorough. Inventories and orders and adjusts stock levels for IV solutions and related supplies that are used by the Pharmacy throughout the medical center. Monitors expiration dates of IV solutions stocked for the Pharmacy. High School Graduate or equivalent Two years of Pharmacy Technician background or two years experience in inventory control.
