Description:
Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense and general aviation sectors. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Buyer/Planner reports to the Supply Chain Manager. The position will initially be 80% purchasing, and 20% Planning. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for negotiating purchase price, lead times, reviewing contracts and driving the highest value for the company. The Buyer/Planner reviews, analyzes, and executes MRP generated material requisitions and internal purchase requests in support of internal and external customer schedules and requirements; ensures a controlled flow of approved materials to meet production requirements in a cost-effective manner. The Buyer/Planner also releases work orders and assists the Master Scheduler, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. APICS CPIM or Purchasing CPM certification preferred.
- Five (5) years’ experience as a Buyer/Planner in a manufacturing environment, Aerospace experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP. Epicor experience preferred.
- Proficient in MRP, BOM structures, Shop-Floor Control, Configuration Management, and Warehouse Operations.
- Familiar with Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, etc.)
- Assertive and win-win negotiating ability.
- Self-motivated, team player willing to assist where needed.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to prioritize workload.
- Position is on-site, M-F, normal business hours.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of purchasing including purchase price, delivery, lead-time, and terms & conditions, to achieve the best value for the company.
- Help achieve increased inventory turns, by working with suppliers through consignment, stocking agreements and other programs. Understand the importance of economic order quantity (EOQ).
- Collaborate with other departments (Engineering, Quality, Operations) to research, analyze and purchase new material and service requirements and establish new suppliers as required.
- Responsible for Purchase Order placement to support MRP material requirements for direct materials and services as well as internal purchase requests for supplies and services.
- Generate, manage, and maintain purchase orders, contract documents, and long-term agreement deliverables, ensuring on time delivery and swift resolution of supplier issues.
- Assure that purchase orders are entered into and updated within the ERP system in an accurate, complete, and timely manner and that customer flow downs are clearly defined.
- Gather technical data and scope of work details to act as central point of communication with suppliers.
- Manage supplier compliance with and flow down of US government procurement related requirements.
- Recommend and assist in development and implementation of process improvements.
- Work with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Release work orders and track status through the shopfloor. Work with the Master Scheduler and Production Manager to prioritize work orders during an over-capacity situation.
- Maintain a professional image with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to travel, as necessary.
