Description

PRODUCTION BUYER

Location: Chelmsford
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time (if part-time a minimum 3 days per week, including Monday & Thursday)
Salary: Circa £30,000-£36,000 pro rata
Contract Term: 12 month contract, with the potential to become permanent
Hours: 07:00 - 15:30 (flexible), with a 30-minute lunch break
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Buyer to join our procurement team in Chelmsford. This role is key to ensuring smooth production operations by managing procurement processes, maintaining stock levels, and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers. It offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time working, with the requirement to align with the Purchasing Manager at least one day per week.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS PRODUCTION BUYER POSITION:

  • A qualification in Supply Chain or Business is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in purchasing/procurement, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, materials management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is essential.
  • CIPS or other related procurement/supply chain certifications (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
