Responsibilities
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and long-term partnerships.
Source and obtain supplier quotations, review terms, and generate accurate purchase orders with proper supporting documentation.
Regularly review supplier performance and ensure adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Maintain in-depth knowledge of fresh produce types, quality grades, and handling requirements to align with customer and supplier expectations.
Identify and minimize inefficiencies across procurement and logistics processes by aligning quality and delivery standards between stakeholders.
Conduct cost evaluations to determine the most economical sourcing and logistics options, including bulk purchases across customer segments.
Monitor and manage supplier claims related to product quality or delivery, ensuring timely resolution to protect operational costs.
Implement and oversee quality control checks to ensure the freshness, safety, and compliance of produce with current industry standards.
Analyze consumption trends and collaborate with relevant teams to forecast orders accurately, reducing the risk of overstock or stockouts.
Evaluate transportation and storage strategies to optimize freshness, minimize spoilage, and manage associated risks and costs effectively.
