  BUYER, PROCUREMENT   JOB SUMMARY: Purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. * Create and schedule purchase orders to ensure materials are available when needed * Communicate delivery schedule with receiving, scheduling, and all other relevant production teams. * Arrange freight for purchase and transfer orders. * Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues. * Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous business improvement. * Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations. * Flag any supply issues or opportunities to improve cost, quality, or timing. * Ensure a professional and consistent approach is taken in all business interactions. * Ensure adherence to company guidelines, purchasing policies, and procedures under the supervision of the purchasing manager throughout all purchasing activities. * Track supplier performance (price, quality, delivery) and share insights. * Prepare reports and updates as and when required. * Maintains inventory on hand within location budgets. * Execute purchasing strategies and report progress to department manager. * Additional duties as assigned by management.   SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: * Keen attention to detail and accuracy. * Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities. * Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills. * Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff and stakeholders. * Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and achieve set targets.   REQUIREMENTS: * 3 years purchasing experience, in a manufacturing environment OR significant hands-on experience working with door and frame materials (e.g., shop, production, or warehouse roles) in lieu of purchasing experience. * Computer literate, with Excel skills/abilities. Advanced Excel skills a plus. * Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is a plus.
