POSITION SUMMARY

The Foodservice Buyer – Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing food and non-food products that support the company’s foodservice distribution operations. This role ensures product availability, cost-effectiveness, vendor compliance, and adherence to food safety and quality standards. The Buyer collaborates with suppliers, internal departments, and warehouse operations to optimize procurement strategies, maintain strong vendor relationships, and support the company’s overall supply chain performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Foodservice Management, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of procurement experience in foodservice, hospitality, distribution, or related industry.
• Experience with international sourcing and import/export regulations is a plus.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong knowledge of foodservice products, industry suppliers, and supply chain practices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Analytical ability to manage budgets, forecast demand, and evaluate vendor performance.
• Proficient in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Procurement & Sourcing

• Source and procure foodservice products, packaging, and related supplies in alignment with company standards, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to secure competitive costs and favorable conditions.
• Develop and maintain a trusted supplier base, ensuring vendor compliance with food safety, Halal, HACCP, and USDA requirements.
• Evaluate new product opportunities and alternative suppliers to support cost savings, product innovation, and service expansion.
