OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, supplies, and services necessary for our operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, vendor management capabilities, and proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP. The Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring that our company maintains optimal inventory levels while achieving cost-effective purchasing solutions. Experience purchasing materials for sealift and transporting to Nunavut an asset.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with sourcing strategies and vendor management practices.
  • Experience using SAP or similar procurement systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful price negotiations.
  • Ability to fabricate solutions that meet operational needs while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
