JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our Head office Commercial team as a Buyer. This role involves a blend of sales analysis, supplier management, marketing coordination, and product development to drive our business forward.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a buyer role
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and experience of Foodservice essential
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Office Programs particularly Excel
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: £40,000.00-£43,000.00 per year

  • Supplier Management: Meet and vet new suppliers, negotiate terms, and monitor performance with key suppliers.
  • Product Sourcing: Source new products that align with our brand and market needs.
  • Promotion Management: Manage various promotions to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Pricing Updates: Update pricing information every week.
  • Sales Analysis: Analyse past sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Buying Meetings: Attend monthly buying meetings to discuss own label contracts
  • Own Label Development: Develop, negotiate, and manage Sterling’s Caterers Essentials branded products in liaison with suppliers.
  • Quality Control: Conduct sample testing to ensure product quality.
  • Marketing Coordination: Coordinate marketing and advertising efforts to boost promotions.
  • Business Development: Visit members and suppliers to strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities.
  • Newsletter Production: Produce a weekly newsletter to keep stakeholders informed.
