We are currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. Reporting to the Team Lead, you will provide procurement coordination and expertise while supporting our client, Toronto Hydro, and their Operations Support Services team.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated purchasing experience and a proven ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Designation or Certification in Supply Chain Management (an asset).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay highly organized.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in utility or regulated industries (an asset).
  • Valid driver’s license for travel to customer meetings within Southern Ontario.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage constraints and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with SAP, ERP, and/or Ariba (an asset).
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) (an asset).

Responsibilities
  • Prepare purchase orders for all product requirements.
  • Evaluate purchasing reports and prioritize purchase orders based on critical needs.
  • Ensure orders meet optimal levels to maximize fulfillment and inventory requirements.
  • Expedite and de-expedite materials as required.
  • Proactively troubleshoot discrepancies in received materials and invoices.
  • Accurately maintain and process purchase orders.
  • Monitor orders and provide updated projected delivery dates.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Resolve inbound material and invoice discrepancies as required.
  • Generate ad hoc reports for the leadership team.
  • Respond to client stakeholder inquiries regarding orders.
  • Assist the Operations Support Services team as required.
  • Run reports in Ariba, SAP, and Oracle BI.
  • Attend weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly business unit meetings to support demand planning and provide updates on supply chain issues (e.g., delays and reasons).
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
