Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Womenswear Buyer you will be responsible for the selection, purchasing and delivery of range strategy for assigned portfolio. To ensure maximum profitability in line with company vision, and brand positioning in consultation with the Merchandise leadership team. You will be consumer focused with a commercial mindset, to build an assortment strategy that inspires growth and new customer acquisition. You will be required to build strong relationships with both internal teams and suppliers to achieve the outcomes of the role.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Work with Merchandise Leadership Team on full year commercial and strategic direction for your portfolio
  • Review portfolio on regular cycles to ensure financial targets are met and risks highlighted (Monthly Forecast Reviews)
  • Conduct regular trend research and monitor brand health to ensure relevance for the consumer.
  • Build seasonal introduction, training & VM directive to deliver to retail team
  • Develop a customer centric range architecture
  • Identify sales trends highlighting best and worst performers and areas of opportunity
  • Ensure assortment depth and size curves are relevant and in line with sales trends
  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer through robust market research
  • Manage and maintain strong brand partner partnership to ensure market leading assortment
  • Negotiate best commercial outcome including intake margin, markdown assistance and/or rebates
  • Liaise and collaborate with Brand Partners and Marketing to ensure successful launches and campaign executions, delivering strong ROI
  • Source new and relevant brands to enable category growth
  • Review of sales at store and brand level, highlighting opportunities
  • Weekly in-depth review of portfolio and delivery of performance/suggested actions at Trade Meetings
  • Regular reviews of forward order and current inventory hold, highlighting opportunities and risks
  • Work with Marketing & Retail Teams to ensure key items are promoted and featured in campaigns
