Full job description

This is a full-time, on-site Procurement role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The Procurement professional will manage end-to-end purchasing activities, including preparing and processing purchase of food, beverages, household products, personal care items, and other supermarket merchandise. The role involves supplier sourcing, price negotiation, purchase order management, stock availability, and maintaining strong supplier relationships while ensuring competitive pricing and product quality. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, obtaining and comparing quotations, negotiating contracts and pricing, and ensuring timely delivery to support production schedules. The individual will work closely with operations, finance, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, monitor supplier performance, and resolve delivery or quality issues. The role also includes maintaining accurate procurement records, supporting cost optimization initiatives, and complying with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must have Supermarket experience in UAE
  • 2–5 years of purchasing/buying experience in supermarkets, hypermarkets, FMCG, or retail.
  • UAE/GCC market experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of FMCG products, suppliers, pricing, promotions, and market trends.
  • Candidates should possess strong Procurement skills, including experience with sourcing, purchasing processes, and vendor management.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Purchase Orders and related documentation, including requisition handling, order tracking, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Supplier Evaluation, including assessing quality, reliability, pricing, and compliance with company standards.
  • Candidates should possess abilities in Contract Negotiation, including negotiating terms, prices, delivery schedules, and service-level agreements.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills, including data analysis, cost comparison, and decision-making based on market and supplier information.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing or industrial procurement, ideally in paper, packaging, or FMCG environments, is beneficial.
  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP or procurement software, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site are important.
  • Knowledge of UAE market, import/export procedures, and basic contract and commercial terms will be an advantage.
