We are seeking a Japan Buzz Marketer to lead cultural strategy and execution for Apple’s wearables portfolio — with a focus on Apple Watch and AirPods. This role will drive the development and stewardship of strategic relationships across music, fashion, fitness, sports and lifestyle — building meaningful partnerships with artists, creators, teams, athletes, coaches, and organizations around the world. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of popular culture and a proven track record of translating cultural insight into high-impact, culturally resonant programs. This role will also work with the wider XF teams as needed to execute Buzz strategy against key opportunities and moments beyond wearables when needed. DESCRIPTION Buzz Marketing sits at the intersection of culture and product — partnering closely with Product Marketing, PR, Marcom, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Sports and more to create strategic, integrated programs that are uniquely Apple. In this role, you will develop and drive cultural strategies that inspire the world’s most influential creators to authentically use and champion Apple products — particularly Apple Watch and AirPods — in modern, timely and socially native ways. This is a highly collaborative, relationship-driven role for someone who understands the culture deeply, moves at the speed of social, and knows how to embed Apple products into meaningful, lasting creative communities around the world. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, specifically in roles dealing directly with creator communities, and connecting brands/moments to to cultural figures across a wide demographic of celebrities and influencers. Native or professional proficiency in written and verbal English and Native in Japanese PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in the celebrity/talent management business in Japan with a proven track record. Work experience in the sports business will be an added advantage. Demonstrated track record of building and managing long-term relationships with high-profile creators, athletes, artists, executives, and their representation across fashion, music, sport, arts to identify opportunity for wearables and other Apple products A deep interest in the Japan creator, athlete culture to identify and understanding potential up-and-coming trends shaping Japan’s landscape and the, partnerships and opportunities connected to this Experience and understanding of modern marketing including social-first storytelling and product integration across major cultural moments in Japan (music, sports, fashion, Japan tentpoles) Confidence to engage at the highest level of influence and speaking to talent and internal XF teams Strong knowledge base and personal use of Apple products and software Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced, and time-critical environment Comfortable with high volumes of information and quickly breaking down what action needs to be taken Direct experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information with integrity Excellent communication and written skills Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required Experience building product seeding strategies tied to launches, major events, and fast-moving social trends Experience managing complex, high-visibility projects simultaneously — delivering on strategy, on time, and to premium brand standards Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, strategic updates and narrative reports for senior leadership Direct experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information with integrity
