Description (1) Full-Time Monday - Friday 8a-5p wiht some late evenings and occasional Saturdays SUMMARY: The Family Peer Support will work with identified families to reinforce goals and support the family unit while following the Wraparound process. The C.A.R.E.S. Wraparound model is a strengths-based, family driven diversion program designed to divert youth and families from the child welfare system, juvenile justice system or residential care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Family Support Ensure that the family voice is leading the planning and implementation of goals Build relationships with family members, providers and the community Provide information, referrals and linkages to appropriate community resources Provide parent coaching, teaching and promotion of parent involved activities Assist in increasing the family’s home management skills and provide hands-on assistance in the upkeep of a safe and healthy environment Complete all necessary documentation to ensure C.A.R.E.S. Wraparound model is followed with fidelity Attend team meetings, staffing, and all training courses required Perform other incidental or related duties as assigned ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Safety Obeys safety rules of St. John’s Lutheran Ministries. Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards. Attends mandatory safety in-services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Mission/Customer Service Supports the growth and actively engages in the Eden Alternative philosophy, including a work environment with plants and animals. Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations. Attends all mandatory in-services. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: High School diploma or Hi-Set required, 2 years’ experience working with others to navigate the mental health, education, juvenile justice or child welfare system is a plus Lived experience navigating mental health, special education, juvenile justice, or child welfare system as a consumer, parent, foster parent, or adoptive parent is required. Strong knowledge of Community Resources is necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Good written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills Demonstrate cultural competence & sensitivity to population served Demonstrate a high degree of independent judgment Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of St. John’s United Familiar with the use of computers and Microsoft office programs and virtual web platforms Travel/Other: Candidate must have valid driver’s license, proof of current insurance and be able to drive throughout the state of MT. Other national travel may be required. Must be able to pass a thorough background screening upon hire. Some occasional evening and weekend hours required Physical Demands: Requires minimal lifting functions Requires moderate bending, standing and reaching activities Working Conditions: Normal office setting.
