He/She must have the ability to assist with the collection of data for objective assessment, and to identify the needs and requirements of the patient and report to the charge nurse/team leader.  They will act within the scope of practice for Nursing.   The Nursing Assistant reports directly charge nurse/team leader.     QUALIFICATIONS:   1. Education: 1.  High School graduate or equivalent required              b.) Completion of certified nurse assistant course.   1. Licensure/Certification: a.) BLS certification required within 6 months of employment. b.) MO CNA, EMT, or have completed Fundamentals Class in Nursing school.   1. Work Experience: a.) Successful completion of hospital orientation.     RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:   1.  Provide appropriate care to patients, including but not limited to, bathing, vital signs,          and glucose monitoring, walking, and answering the call light as needed.   2.  Report abnormal vital signs and glucose reading to nurse who is overseeing patient care.   3.  Report a change in-patient to nurse taking care of patient.   4.  Documentation in the EMR that are accurate and detailed if needed.   5.  Provide clean environment care (straightening up rooms, emptying drains).   6.  Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPPA compliance.   7.  Fill out incent reports as needed for actual events and near misses.   8.  Other duties as assigned.    REQUIRED STAFF COMPETENCIES:   1. Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care including bathing, monitoring vital signs, and glucose levels while reporting changes to the charge nurse. Maintain a clean patient environment and ensure accurate documentation within the EMR system.
