Description Job Title: Production C Operator Supervisor Title: Production Supervisor Department: Production FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary A Production C Operator is responsible for performing the tasks in the production and processing of specialty silicone chemicals as a member of the Production Department operations team. Responsible for the conduct of daily chemical production and processing tasks as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Run assigned plant equipment, in a safe and proper manner. Able to assist start-up and shut-down some plant processes. Equipment could include Emulsion area, VQM, Gum Blends, Tank Trucks, Bulk Tanks, Reactors, Pope Unit, Repacking and shipping and receiving. · Qualified to run assigned plant equipment that they have been evaluated/trained on. · Train to become familiar with all plant processes. · Measure and record all raw, in-process and finished materials accurately. · Follow all work instructions and SOP’s explicitly, sign off on each instruction. · Pack out material when batch process is complete. · Clean all production equipment, tools and work areas near equipment between batches and at the end of the shift. · Make adjustments to batches as directed. · Troubleshoot process problems with guidance from lead/supervisor. · Comply with all company occupational health, safety and environmental legal requirements. · Use personal protective equipment as assigned. · Report all unsafe conditions, work related injury or illness to a member of leadership. · Safely handle and prepare materials for transport as assigned per regulatory requirements. · Safely handle hazardous chemicals and waste according to company and legal requirements as assigned. · Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO-9001 and 45001 integrated management systems. · Maintain good communication with fellow operators and leads/supervisors to ensure all tasks operate efficiently. · Help with training of new operators/apprentice operators · Volunteer and work weekends to maintain production demands · Additional duties as assigned. Requirements Job Requirements and Qualifications Work Experience: 1+ years of experience required in chemical manufacturing and production Training Requirements: Fork Truck License Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Teamwork; promote positive work environment within the production team and with other departments. Leadership: provide mentorship to junior operators, answer questions, demonstrate best practices. Display initiative and strong work ethic to get work done in a safe and timely manner. Strong communication skills – verbal and written. Safety; ensure company safety and security procedures are followed in all processes.
