Description Job Title: Quality Control Technician Primary Supervisor: Quality Control Supervisor Secondary Supervisor: Director of Manufacturing Department: Cut & Sew FLSA Status: Hourly Summary: Maintain the quality of all manufactured products from receiving to final inspection and testing. Provide a consistent progressive program for all employees. Assist in supervision of employees in a production situation. Essential Duties: Analyze specifications/contracts as they pertain to operation steps and product assembly. Maintain necessary documentation related to quality policies, procedures and traceability. Work with the purchasing department in establishing quality requirements from external suppliers. Responsible for second stage receiving inspection of raw materials. Responsible for all aspects of first piece, in-process and finished product inspection. Oversee inspection criteria to ensure only conforming product is shipped. Perform periodic audits of quality system and address non-conformance areas. Ensure that quality problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner. Investigate quality problems and recommend changes or improvements. Report quality problems to Floor Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager and Quality Control Supervisor as needed. Promote an environment of open and honest, clear and consistent communication with Quality Control Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, and Director of Manufacturing. May be required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required lift up to 75 pounds with assistance. All other duties deemed necessary. Requirements Qualifications: Possess ability to maintain flexible schedule to meet the demands of the department, i.e. overtime. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Ability to listen to what is said and act upon it appropriately. Ability to use tact and empathy in dealing with people of varied backgrounds. Ability to establish effective working relationships. Ability to work independently or in a team environment and plan and organize workload. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office products. (computer literate) Accepts responsibility and demonstrates leadership. Can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Trustworthy- Able to keep business confidential as required. Open minded- Willing to embrace change. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in quality inspection preferred. Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Physical Demands The position requires employees to alternate from a sitting to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required.
