Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Software Engineer to support an intel program focused on supporting a Command & Control (C2) team, focused on developing and integrating software solutions for satellite operations. This position will be in Washington, D.C. OR Arvada, Colorado. This is a Hybrid role. This job opens for applications on August 11, 2025. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER INCLUDE:

  • 3+ years of experience in satellite C2 or complex hardware/software integration.
  • Proficiency in Python (required); Rust or C++ (preferred for performance-critical components).
  • Experience with real-time embedded systems and hardware/software integration.
  • Familiarity with satellite communication protocols and telemetry standards.
  • Understanding of encryption and secure communications.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and cloud-native deployments.
  • Knowledge of relational and time-series databases.
  • Version control using Git/GitHub.
  • Preference for open-source contributions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Background in cryptographic systems integration is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate C2 software for satellite vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard new satellites and integrate solutions into Quindar’s product suite.
  • Work with industry standards and protocols (CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, XTCE, MIB).
  • Support secure integration of NSA Type 1 encryption algorithms (PEGASUS, CARIBOU) and AES-256 variants.
  • Contribute to long-term product development and integration with government systems.
