Job Description Role overview A Cybersecurity Analyst monitors network and system activity to detect suspicious behavior or potential cyberattacks.​ The role focuses on preventing, detecting, and responding to security incidents to reduce risk and protect sensitive information.​ Key responsibilities Monitor computer networks, logs, and security tools (such as SIEM) for security alerts, anomalies, and intrusion attempts.​ Investigate security incidents, contain and remediate threats, and document findings in incident reports.​ Configure, maintain, and update security controls such as firewalls, antivirus, VPNs, and encryption solutions.​ Risk and compliance Perform vulnerability assessments and sometimes penetration testing to identify and help fix security weaknesses.​ Support security policies, standards, and regulatory compliance by maintaining documentation and participating in audits.​ Research emerging threats and recommend improvements to strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.
